The Agile Process

[those who took part in session, please feel free to add!]

Agile techniques have been developed to address the root of impairments which are preventing developers from coding and finishing projects, for example:

·         Cards on wall: reduced communication costs, instead of e-mails, also prevents two people from working on the same project

·         Stand up meetings: came from people spending too much time in meetings

·         Peer coding: developed due to finding out that fixing problems later takes much longer than dealing with it right away, can measure change in effectiveness

How to work with cultural challenges:

·        Give people different alternatives, and see which one they respond to most enthusiastically, if culturally not acceptable to give negative feedback

·        India: culturally similar to Middle East in terms of giving feedback, or not giving feedback

·        Easier to ask for opinion rather than asking directly for feedback
